Weight Loss Centers Exposed

I'm going to tell you a weight loss secret: Very few people ever lose weight and keep it off. And I'm not talking about the pictures you see in magazines or on TV.

You know all those diet centers? The high profile weight loss centers with celebrity endorsers and boxed up meals? I won't name names, but the big time weight loss centers; did you know that most of their revenue comes from repeat customers? Yep. Those centers cash in on people making a little bit of progress and then failing. That's how they make their money!

weight loss programs, weight loss meal plan, loose weight,

How much money do you think it takes to A) Hire a celebrity, and B) Pay for that TV airtime? The answer is obvious.

People lose weight, yes, in a rare circumstance they do. And that's when the diet center steps in and takes a snapshot (and credit) for the weight loss success. But here's the thing: very few keep the weight off. And chances are pretty good that someone who is in a "before and after" photo will gain all the weight back within a year's time.

Weight Loss Fact: It's rare for a person who struggles with his or her weight to get it off and keep it off.

Who's fooling whom? The weight loss centers exploit a person's success, but never give you the statistical facts. And hey, maybe you don't want to know the facts. Maybe you don't want to know the failure rate. Maybe you'd rather take a look at the weight loss "success stories" and hope that you can be one of them.

And you can. But why overpay for meals that they've packaged to sell? Those places have turned into glamorized grocery stores. Diet food? They keep sucking you in to pay extra for foods that you could go out and buy yourself, better quality and cheaper. They can justify the extra sticker price because if you look at Kristen over there in the latest print advertisement "look at me, I've lost 58 pounds." You're convinced!

There must be something to it. Yes, there is: Kristen could have done it without Jenny what's-her-names help. Those centers can only hope that people like Kristen step into their stores. They bank on people, women mostly, like Kristen who have lost a little confidence over the years and put on gradual weight.

They know the Kristens of the world are vulnerable. They know that if they can get enough Kristens to come in and lose weight that she'll be happy to endorse their products. They know that when believable girls like Kristen spread the word, that's like a cash register going "cha-ching" again and again.

So what's the solution? First, save your money. Second, realize that in order to lose weight you will need to rely on only one person. That's you. Begin by educating yourself on the different aspects of weight loss. More importantly begin examining yourself, your motivations. Think about where you've come from, and where you want to go from here.

If you want to lose a lot of weight, there are ways. You will need effort, but there are ways.
